Opal Sonic Infusion System

We saw the Opal Sonic Infusion System at Sephora the other day. Knowing it's the same company that makes our Clarisonic face brush, even though it's very expensive ($245), we still decided to bring it home and give it a try.

The outside box looked like this. It's not much bigger than a box of sheet masks.

An age-fighting innovation that combines sonic infusion technology with Anti-Aging Sea Serum for visible results that last for hours and build over time.

Robb Akridge, PhD, optimized this serum for the dynamics of sonic infusion. Using his immunology expertise to promote skin health, he employed a multi-layered approach of marine extracts and botanicals to: Hydrate, Firm and tighten, and Protect.

As shown in the figure below, the Sonic infuser's gentle sonic micro-massage infuses the sonically-optimized Anti-Aging Sea Serum into the outermost layers of the epidermis, where it begins to work immediately.

The ingredients:

The before and after comparison looks amazing.

Inside the packaging, there's a white travel bag.

The charging base.

Two Anti-Aging Sea Serum Dispenser Caps wrapped like this.

After opening the wrap, the dispenser cap looks like this.

The infuser.

This is the applicator tip that you put under your eye area. I think it's made of gel or something, really soft.

The serum will be dispensed from this nozzle onto the applicator tip.

This is how it looks when closed.

The back of it.

Well, indeed it looks splendid to me, the design and the technology behind it. However the result is too intense. Before it got to my hands, my husband had a test drive on it. He said it's so strong that his under eye area sores. His eyes almost got swollen the next morning. That really scared me so I passed. And we both decided that it was way too over priced. The system alone costs $245, then after that two replacement caps will run $100 which supposed to last 90 days each. With that kind of money, I'd rather buy me some nice eye cream.

Conclusion: Opal has to go back.

omg thanks for the review! i've been so curious about it ever since they announced about it coming out. but that is super expensive, even for the replacement serums! and that sucks that it made ur hubby's eyes swollen the next day. thanks so much for being our guinea pig. I love my Clarisonic brush so much, but I guess I'll pass on the Opal, there are still so many eye creams that i have yet to explore! and lastly, applaud to your hubby because just reading through your posts, it seems like he is very keen on skincare as well and it's so nice to have a supportive hubby hehehe :) Mine will take a long time to train...:p

Wow! I have to get the face brush! I'm using the toothbrush though.. hahaha. Thanks for the review. I did suspect it was gonna be too strong. Even my toothbrush is a bit strong for my teeth - I only use it 1x a day.
