Color of the Week - Chanel Rose Baby and Rose Tourbillon for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is coming next weekend, so I want to do a nail that's suitable for the occasion. The colors I picked both have "rose" word in it which are again Chanel's 64 Rose Baby and 139 Rose Tourbillon.

Both colors can't be found at a Chanel counter anymore. I think Rose Baby was already discontinued, I got it at a cosmetic store at Carmel. Rose Tourbillon was a Limited Nordstrom anniversary item from 2008. The colors are not THAT unique so you can probably find a dupe.

The boxes are like Chanel's normal nail polish boxes. So nothing special about them.

On the left is the Rose Baby which is a light pale pink color with very fine pearl shimmers. Rose Tourbillon is a medium sheer rosy pink with silver glitters. It's similar to Chanel's Flamingo but even more sheer.

This time I used a clear nail from Daiso. I don't quite like the quality. The shape's too curvy and it's a little too thin and soft.

The tools I used. (I decided to use the yellow color instead of white later on. Also I forgot to put glitters in the photo either.)

First I did one coat of Rose Baby. I can still sort of see through the color.

With 2 coats I'm pretty happy with the color and the coverage. The result is a really fine pearly finish. This will look good even by its own.

Now I brush the Rose Tourbillon on the top part. It doesn't have to be perfect. I like how shiny it is.

I covered up the edge with yellow flowers and stamped some hearts on it. Use the brush to fix minor problems. I also pressed a heart sticker on the corner.

This is how it looks under flash.

Final step is optional. For added glamour, glue on some stars and hearts and dots. That's it!
