Color of the Week - Dior Silver Pearl

Today's Color of the Week is about Dior's Nail Color 604 Silver Pearl. This is one of the two Limited Edition nail polishes from 2010 Dior Spring Makeup Collection.

The color is a cool toned smokey grey silver. It's very pigmented with great coverage. Even with one coat it should be all right. The finish is metallic with multi-color glitters that shines under the sunlight. I think it's really pretty! Compared to the Silver Purple, it's not as glossy and shiny but rather having a gun metal sheen.

The color changes under flash light and direct sunlight.

How do you like this? Will you wear it on your hands or toes?

Bliss Triple Oxygen +C Energizing Cream

Since I loved Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask a lot, I got the Triple Oxygen +C Energizing Cream over the weekend. It's 1.7oz for $54.

Product information (Sephora web)

What it does: A lightweight gel-cream that hydrates, brightens, and instantly revives dull, stressed skin.

What it is formulated to do: Treat your skin to a revitalizing trio of oxygenating ingredients and an advanced form of vitamin C to revive fatigued, sallow skin and achieve fresh-from-the-shower, dewy glow. The perfect pairing of star ingredients (oxygen and vitamin C) helps the skin rebound from external and internal stresses. Like an at-home version of Bliss Spa's Triple Oxygen Treatment Facial, it delivers a targeted burst of O2 to help support cell respiration, reinforce collagen synthesis, improve skin hydration, and breathe new life into a lackluster complexion. You will see results after a single use.

What else you need to know: This treatment's unique version of vitamin C is lipid-soluble—meaning your skin absorbs it more readily. It also helps promote collagen synthesis while brightening and evening skintone, and is nonirritating to sensitive types.

On the back of the box it shows the instruction for use. Each morning and night, massage onto cleansed face and neck in small circular motions for at least 30 seconds to help stimulate circulation. To really amp your oxygen intake, supplement with our triple oxygen instant energizing mask up to 3x weekly, and our triple oxygen instant energizing eye mask as needed.

The packaging design is very similar to the triple oxygen mask's, simple yet clean.

There's an aluminum seal inside the lid that needs to be removed before use. This is probably to prevent the ingredients from going bad also that's why the shelf life is so short, only 6 months.

The cream itself is a light pink yogurt texture gel. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy at all. It's got the fresh orange smell that just like the instant mask, very light and pleasant.

I've been using it day and night for 4 days now. The Cream de La Mer applicator gives me just the right amount of cream that I need. I haven't seen any brightening effects just yet but my face does look radiant and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels really soft. The only drawback is that it's not moisturizing enough so I may need to follow up with a moisturizer at night. But other than that, I'm really pleased with it.

Random Thoughts about Games and Ace Attorney

I call myself casual gamer. I'm not trained to do button mashings and I don't like to head on nasty demons, the only type of games I play are usually for kids. That's why I own gamecube, DS and Wii instead of the hardcore Playstation and Xbox.

I was really into playing Mario games and I still am. My favorites are the Mario Party and Super Mario Galaxy. It's been over 2 years since MP8, when are they going to release the new one?! Those mini games I can keep playing and playing.

I'm also a big fan of the Ace Attorney series. I played all the games and love the all but Phoenix Wright is still the best. Too bad they put him to retire. His hair style is especially so cool and the little pearls is so adorable. Apollo Justice's charisma and personality can't even compare to Phoenix. Now the new title just released with the main character Miles Edgeworth. He was actually a prosecutor who stand the opposite side from Phoenix. I only finished the first chapter but it feels like the story is quite easy compared to the previous ones. Maybe it's for people who never played the series before.

The most memorable parts of the game are the expressions. What I mean by expressions are stress, nervous, and energy. For example: In the first few versions of the game, Phoenix would start sweating and look down as if he did not have anything to say, while at other times he would be full of energy by pointing his index finger and shouting OBJECTION!

I can't wait for the next game because it is just so fun.

Color of the Week - Shu Uemura Nuance Top Coat Clear

Hi there! How's everyone doing on Saturday? Today's Color of the Week, I'm going to show you the Shu Uemura Nuance Top Coat Clear nail polish. I think Shu still carries this item as their regular.

The outside packaging is a clear plastic box which isn't the prettiest. The bottle itself is in an odd shape, flat on the back and round in the front.

The bottle is kind of small, only 10ml compared to Chanel's 13ml, but it's Made in France.

The interesting thing about this is that it's a top coat that consists of two layers, a transparent polish layer and a holographic glitter layer. After sitting for a long time, it'll look like this, all the glitters sinking at the bottom. So you can just use it like so as a regular top coat. Or... shake it up and transform!

Apply it on top of any nail polishes for added glamor. Here I apply it on the Chanel Organdy nail I did several weeks ago.

Plain Organdy...

Under direct sunlight...

One thing with these glitter polishes is that they don't feel smooth without some additional top coat or ridge filler. But nothing major.

Dior Illuminating Lace - Effect Powder for Face

As some of you already spotted this compact from my other post on Valentine's day, good eyes ^^ Yes I got the Dior Illuminating Lace - Effect Powder for Face as my present. My husband was initially debating on this one and the 5-colour eyeshadow palette. When another lady went in asking for this compact, that's how my husband made up his mind getting this. Haha I don't blame on him for spending $55 because myself really like it as well.

Inspired by the soft, feminine lace of the 1920’s; a sampling of the gentle pinks, light-reflecting shadows and classic neutrals that flatter and enhance a variety of complexions. The embroidered powder can be used as a highlighter to add a radiant glow to the complexion.

There're actually 2 shades in the collection: 001 Pink Lace and 002 Peach lace. The shade I got is the 001 Pink Lace. Why am I not surprised that we only get one shade in the US market again. Yeah like always Asian markets always have more selections than us. This is unfair.

This compact is insanely heavy, like a brick. Good stuff doesn't come in cheap light plastic packaging. And it's wrapped in a black velvet pouch.

Even the case has embroidery design, so pretty.

Under indirect lighting...

In the sunlight... The lace pattern looks more dimensional and you can sort of see the fine shimmer reflected by the sun.

I can't wait to use this but on the other side I don't want to ruin the pretty pattern.

RoC Deep Wrinkle Night Cream

Has anyone seen the RoC ads in magazines? The model looks so young for her age. Granted Japanese women take good care of their skin, but still it looks amazing isn't it?

So I bought this as well. It doesn't look exactly the same as the one above but I guess it should be similar. It's called Deep Wrinkle Night Cream.

On the back, it says "RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream is an intensive anti-wrinkle treatment that works through the night, visibly reducing expression lines and deep wrinkles."

It also shows a clinical testing results for 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks.

It's an off white (yellow) cream with medium consistency. I've been using it as a night serum for about two months. Even though I haven't seen visible results but it's quite moisturizing and doesn't feel greasy at all. So I guess it's alright. But again I don't have deep wrinkles to start with anyway. I'm only using it to prevent it. If my skin can stay the way it looks in the next 10 or 20 years (not possible), I'd be really happy.

Overall I think this is not bad for its price but it's not as great as I thought it to be. Also it has a slight scent to it which is a negative to me. So I don't think I will re-purchase it.

Happy Valentine's Day!

How did everyone celebrate today? Let me show you some of the presents I got.

A Valentine's day cake ~ so sweet!

A caramel and chocolate dipped apple that I won from Sigona's Farmers Market contest. They have the best and freshest produce.

More cosmetics stuff.

Color of the Week - Valentine's Day take 2

Today I'm doing another simple Valentin's Day nail. The nail colors I used are Chanel nail color 208 Paparazzi, Majolica Majorca BE 115 and Jill Stuart Nail Lacquer N 106 Romantic Macaron from the Christmas Sweetness Collection.

JS for the base.

Use the MJ BE-115 to draw a thick smile line.

Chanel Paparazzi for the tip and the crown.

Add some rhinestones for a more princess-y look.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

My husband got this Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing mask at Sephora for himself. It looked so fun to use so I started using it myself too. It sells for $52 100ml but it's been lasting for a long time and it's nowhere near being finished.

Inspired by Bliss Spa's most-famous facial, which gives skin the energy it needs for everyday metabolism, collagen synthesis, and detoxifying action.

What it is: A frothy mask that releases oxygen into the skin, so your complexion is instantly brighter, fresher, and younger-looking.

The packaging is simple and clean.

The bottle comes with a pump which I use 3 pumps each time.

The ingredients include rice, soy protein and grape seed extract.

What it is formulated to do: Instantly delivers a shot of oxygen, a powerhouse form of vitamin C, time-released antioxidants, and a moisture fix, to spiff up your complexion when it's looking and feeling lackluster.

The product comes out as a pearlescent gel (left) but becomes foamy as you apply it on the damp skin (right).

I use it after I wash and exfoliate my face at night. It slightly tingles from the foam it generates but it's a fun sensation to me. I leave it on for the instructed five minutes, then I rinse off and apply my night moisturizer. I have been using this for the past two months, and I have already noticed that my face looks brighter and rosier. So with this I give this product a thumbs UP!!!

Blogger Template Corrupted

I've noticed that my blog looks all ugly and stupid for a while now. At first I didn't realized it because I didn't change anything related to the template but then it stayed ugly. I finally found out why yesterday. The template owner's hosting deleted all his files so a lot of pictures won't show up anymore. I haven't decided what to do with it yet. Hopefully the owner will figure out a fix soon or else I'll have to modify the template myself. It's going to take a long time because of those customized widget codes.

BoA Japanese Album Identity is OUT

Any BoA fans? Her 7th Japanese Album "Identity" is on sale now. There're 13 tracks in the album including some singles which were released last year. My favorite song from the album is "まもりたい ~White Wishes~".

I really missed BoA singing Korean songs. She was so cute and innocent back in the days. And how she's all mature and experienced. I'm really happy for her. I wish her all the best.

The above is a photo that I got from her official website. Her makeup is clean yet pretty as always especially her eyes. She doesn't have huge eyes like Ayumi Hamasaki but she's got her own style. I also like her short hair. But I doubt that I can find a good hair dresser to imitate her haircut.

Dior Addict High Impact Weightless Lip Color Pink Bustier

The other day I was wandering around the Dior counter at Nordies, I picked up their new Dior Addict Lip Color in 863 Pink Bustier. It's one of the 3 new shades from their 2010 Spring Lace Collection.

According to Dior's website, Dior lipstick has added a Lip Neutralizer which is like a light base of foundation to neutralize the natural color of the lips to bring out the vibrant true color of the lipsticks.

It's in a beautiful deep navy blue case. I really like the packaging of this and the Dior Addict High Shine lipsticks.

Under natural lighting, the color is a soft pink sheen. There's no huge shimmer in it.

In the direct sunlight.

With flash.

The shade looks more pink when swatched. It feels very lightweight and moisturizing. The color is not the most pigmented but the finish is watery, like you have some lip gloss on.

I really like the finish and the color of this shade but there's one thing that I'm not totally happy about was its scent. The good thing is that it goes away quickly. However I still prefer fragrance free lipsticks.

Other than this, I think the new face powder and 5 color eye palettes look really nice too.
