Jill Stuart Brilliance Eyes Jewel Violet

This is the only Jill Stuart eye shadow palette I own so far. How funny is that Jill Stuart is an American designer but we didn't carry her beauty items until recently. Also because of the princess-y and cute looking, the brand is over expensive on the internet. Luckily the JS store at NY started selling selected beauty products over the phone. So hopefully they do good and it makes them setup counters at department stores.

The packaging box is similar to the mix blush compact, same pale pink paper and flower prints around the corners.

It sells for 5000 Yen without tax, so basically around $55. But normally you're paying $10 to $20 more if buying online.

The case is not as pretty as the mix blush compact but still pretty enough to be used by a princess =)

It comes with a dual ended sponge applicator. I never use the applicators in my eyeshadow palettes but I can tell that this one definitely can't compare to the ones in some other brands' compact.

There're 4 shades in the compact, from left to right are, frosty white shimmer with micro glitters, pale lilac shimmer with multi glitters, fine amber golden pearl and deep smokey purple blue with blue glitters.

Both glitters from the left 2 shades are a little bit loose and tend to fallout. The powder is in between smooth and chunky. The color payoff is pretty good though.

The 3rd shadow is the smoothest among the 4 shades. The shimmer is really fine and there's barely any fallout. So I'm liking this one. The smokey blue shade is really pigmented. It has a grey undertone in it when applied on eyes.

Over all, this palette is alright. I still prefer my Lunasol palettes over this one. But for the packaging and uniqueness, it's still a good choice. From the new spring collection, I'm actually setting my eyes on the Jewel Crystal Eyes 03 Princess Sapphire. It looks so pretty in the picture. Actually all 4 palettes are pretty. The good news is that all 3 palettes are not limited, so I can take my time getting it.

I really love Jill Stuart, but you are right about the price. They are over priced online, and that's why I personally haven't purchased any yet. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a couple of items this year! :)

Denysia: Maybe you can check the JS soho store at New York. Their price isn't too bad but you gotta pay 15 bucks for UPS shipping.

ning*star: I totally agree to you. I will show my JS blushes in the near future.

Crystal: Jill Stuart really knows what girls like. haha
