Herb 'n Serve

My husband got this little gadget at Bed Bath and Beyond because we had a 20% off coupon. Originally we were there to find the AeroGarden Japanese herb seed kit. Apparently they didn't have it because who's going to use shisho on a daily basis while there're Italian and French herbs available. But we did see this interesting blender thingy. Last night I used it for the first time.

The good thing about this is that you just toss in vinegar, herbs and oil and the machine will do the rest. So no mess, no knife and board, no cleanups. Well of course you need to turn on the blend button. It not only makes salad dress but also marinade. This might sound neat right? But no, hell no! Not when you're actually makes the dressing. I literally poured in half bottle of my balsamic vinegar that my husband got at William's Sonoma. And that thing is not cheap. I also used a ton of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). So we ended up with over dressed salad. I would say it could feed at least 6 dinner sized salad. I'm wondering why they didn't make it smaller portion or better adjustable. So I'm kind of disappointed at it.

Look at the thing. Doesn't it remind you of the Magic Bullet blender? But it is fully detachable so cleaning is fairly easy. I just put in some liquid kitchen soap and turn the motor on then rinse off and store. After all I give it a score of 4.
